Why do you have paid voting?

Most voting for major competitions include a form of paid voting such as text voting.  While most people do not pay attention, text voting charges your cellular phone bill, and appears on your monthly statement.  At ES Team Productions, we have opted out of text voting for our 2010 event, and remain upfront with our fees.  Our major reasons are:

1. Paid voting prevents fraud through the creation of fake e-mail accounts when e-mail voting is used.

2. Paid voting prevents computer hacking, and IP address renewals that often outsmart online programming that prevents votes from the same IP address.

3. Paid voting ensures that votes are counted accurately and correctly. 

4. We believe in accountable voting results.  It allows a verifiable way to ensure that the number of votes a delegate receives is what appears on her profile, in which the voter (you), and the delegate can check voting results.  This allows for transparent voting practice with PayPal used as a third party verifiable audit source as the winner ultimately is chosen by you the public.  The winner also makes it to our Top 5 finalist position.

5. Votes will be updated within 7-14 business days of the transaction being completed.
