Miss Latina™ Canada Facts Do you have a teen division? At this time we accept teen applicants, but do not have a separate teen category. We are still the trademark owners of Miss Teen Latina Canada, but it is currently inactive at this time. Why is the teen division inactive? The expectations of our business objectives have demonstrated that the winners position should be fulfilled by women who have more experience in understanding their roles, both as titleholders and individuals in a mature and healthy manner. Will you bring it back? No. Not at the current moment. Once we have determined that the title is worthy of organizational merit it is definitely something we are willing to consider. How many titleholders have you represented? Since 2005, our organization has had 6 titleholders, however only 5 of these women are acknowledged as having been represented by our organization. Do you still work with past titleholders? Yes, as a titleholder, past winners are an integral part of the Miss Latina™ Canada organization. We develop strong bonds with them and continue to have them involved in our decision making process of new titleholders. All 5 were instrumental in the development of season 1 of Miss Latina™ Canada: The reality series, and we continue to support them in both their personal and professional lives. Miss Latina™ Canada receives prizes that are awarded throughout and up until the end of her reign. There are times when she may receive financial payment, through third parties. However, for the most part the position is voluntary and therefore requires serious commitment and dedication. It is our hope that in the future our winner will be able to receive a paid salary. What happens if I win? Upon winning, titleholders are required to sign a legally binding contract that outlines their obligations. As of 2008, winners received a detailed winners handbook - very similar to an employee handbook at other organizations. It outlines what the organization expects from our winners, and what it is that we deem to be misconduct. Are you affiliated with any international pageants? ES Team™ Productions is an independent production company at a national level in Canada. This means that we may or may not chose to send our winners to other events that are completely independent from us. This is done through a nominal exchange that either cover licensing allowing us to send a winner to their event, travel, accommodation of both. At the current time we are not involved in any other production or pageant, other than the ones we produce here in Canada, and have no say or involvement in the delivery, organization or execution of international events. What is the relationship between you and the Miss Latina World organization? In 2005 and 2006, our winners participated in Miss Latina World. Since that time we have not sent a representative.
